DMAEE is the abbreviation for 2-[2-(Dimethylamino)ethoxy]ethanol, a tertiary amine polyurethane catalyst widely used in rigid and flexible polyurethane foam systems.
Strong blowing catalyst for water/isocyanate reaction
Promotes foam rise and curing
Improves foam skin curing
Low odor / low VOC
Useful in all-water foam systems
Often used with catalysts such as:
BDMAEE
PMDETA
PC-5
DMDEE
DMAEE is mainly used as a low-odor reactive polyurethane catalyst for:
Rigid polyurethane foam
Spray polyurethane foam (SPF)
PIR/PUR insulation panels
Molded flexible foam
Polyether slabstock foam
Packaging foam
Refrigeration insulation foam
Because DMAEE contains both:
a tertiary amine group (catalytic activity), and
a hydroxyl group (reactive functionality),
it can chemically bond into the polyurethane matrix, helping reduce VOC emissions and residual amine odor.
Common package: 200 kg drum
Store in cool, dry, ventilated area
Avoid contact with acids and oxidizers
Hygroscopic; keep container tightly closed
