Product Overview


Rigid Foam Polyester Polyol For Refrigerator is a high-performance polyol engineered for urethane rigid foam formulations in refrigeration and cold storage applications. It features linear to slightly branched structures with hydroxyl numbers (OHN) of 200–300 mg KOH/g and viscosity ranges of 3,000–8,000 cps at 25°C, ensuring compatibility with MDI and cyclopentane-based blowing agents. Key properties include low thermal conductivity (≤0.025 W/m·K) , excellent dimensional stability (≤1% volume change after 7 days at 70°C), and UL 94 V-0 flame retardancy . This polyol is compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.1630 for food-contact applications and contains ≥30% bio-based content in select grades .


Features


Thermal Insulation Efficiency

Exhibits lowest-in-class thermal conductivity due to optimized molecular weight distribution (1,500–3,000 g/mol) and closed-cell structure (≥95% closed cells). This ensures energy savings of up to 15% in commercial refrigeration systems compared to conventional polyols .


Flame Retardant Performance

Achieves UL 94 V-0 rating at 1.6mm thickness through intumescent phosphorus-nitrogen synergistic effects . Resists open-flame ignition (ASTM E162) and smoke density (ASTM E662) with specific optical density ≤450 .


Processing Flexibility

Available in fast-cure grades (gel time 8–12 seconds) for high-speed continuous laminators and slow-cure grades (gel time 20–30 seconds) for complex moldings. Supports density ranges of 30–60 kg/m³ .


Environmental Sustainability

Compliant with EU F-gas Regulation and ISCC PLUS certification for reduced carbon footprint . Free from CFCs, HCFCs, and heavy metals, aligning with circular economy goals.


Applications


Household Refrigerators

Cabinets and Doors: Forms insulating cores with bond strength ≥0.8 MPa to ABS liners and steel skins, passing 1,000-cycle thermal shock tests (-30°C to 50°C) .

Freezer Compartments: Resists -40°C embrittlement and humidity cycling (ASTM D2234) with water absorption ≤3% .


Commercial Cold Storage


Walk-in Coolers: Provides load-bearing capacity ≥150 kPa for floor panels and insulated walls, meeting ASHRAE 90.1 energy efficiency standards .

Refrigerated Transport

Truck Reefer Units: Ensures thermal stability during 12-hour solar soak tests (80°C) with maximum temperature rise ≤5°C .

Industrial Insulation

Pipe Insulation: Bonds to galvanized steel and aluminum jackets with peel strength ≥2.5 N/cm, preventing condensation at dew points as low as -20°C .


Storage


Container: Store in sealed stainless steel or HDPE drums to prevent moisture ingress.

Conditions: Maintain temperatures at 15–30°C and humidity ≤60%, away from strong oxidizing agents.

Handling: Avoid contact with amine catalysts during storage to prevent premature gelling.
