It was a great privilege to participate once again in PU China, Asia's premier event for the polyurethane industry, held in Sep 3th- Sep 5th, 2025 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. After a few years' hiatus, the scale, technological sophistication, and international reach of the exhibition had reached new heights, making the trip immensely worthwhile.
1. Pre-Show Preparation: Precise Positioning and Ready for Action
As a manufacture specializing in environmentally friendly Polyester polyol and the catalysts, our planning began six months in advance. This time, we moved away from our popular products and new products display. We featured a series of our product list on the board, dynamically showcasing application cases of our products in downstream sectors like spraying foam Polyester Polyol , fire retardant Polyester polyol, bio-based Polyester polyol, all water foaming Polyester polyol and the PU catalysts, which successfully drew large crowds.
2. On the Show Floor: Bustling Crowds and Unlimited Potential
Exceptional Attendance: The halls were packed from the first day. There was significant traffic not only in traditional areas like foam (flexible, rigid) and CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers) but also in emerging application zones like new energy (battery encapsulation, lightweight materials) and sustainability (biodegradable PU).
High-Quality, Professional Visitors: The attendees who visited our booth were highly knowledgeable. Their questions went beyond "what's the price per kg" to specific technical challenges: "How can we optimize our polyol system for existing production lines to reduce VOC emissions?" or "Do you have a solution for the new foaming agent?" This level of deep technical discussion significantly improved communication efficiency.
A Stage for Competitors and Partners: Almost every major industry player was present. This was a perfect opportunity to observe competitors' latest technologies and market strategies up close, as well as a platform to meet face-to-face and strengthen relationships with upstream and downstream partners—from raw material (MDI, TDI, polyols) suppliers to equipment manufacturers.
3. Key Takeaways: Innovation and Sustainability Steal the Show
Green & Low-Carbon were the Undisputed Themes: Whether it was bio-based raw materials, recyclable polyurethane, or low-energy production processes, nearly every exhibitor highlighted their products' environmental attributes, strongly aligning with global "Dual Carbon" goals and China's policy direction.
1. The "Radar Station" for Market Insight
PU China acts as a precise "barometer" and "weather vane" for the industry. After three days of intense conversations with over a hundred clients, we gained a clear sense of the market's latest demands and pain points: cost control, environmental compliance, and performance enhancement are the three core concerns. This provides invaluable first-hand information for guiding our next-generation product development.
2. The "Amplifier" for Brand Image
On such an authoritative platform, our well-designed booth, patient and professional team presentations, and the launch of a new product significantly reinforced our image as a technology leader in the minds of our customers. Many clients remarked, "Seeing you at a show like this confirms that you are a key player in the industry."
3. The "Accelerator" for Business Cooperation
During the show, we not only strengthened relationships with existing clients but also collected over 100 high-quality leads. The proportion of overseas inquiries from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe saw a notable increase. We even secured several sample-testing orders on the spot—a process far more efficient than weeks of email communication.
4. The "Fuel" for Personal Growth
On a personal level, it was an intense and immersive learning experience. The challenge of engaging with top industry experts and solving clients' most specific problems gave me a deeper, more three-dimensional understanding of industry technology and market dynamics.
Advice for Future Exhibitors:
Define Clear Objectives: Before the show, be crystal clear about your goal—whether it's "brand exposure," "lead generation," or "closing deals." All preparations should revolve around this core objective.
Storytelling with Products: Don't just display products; tell a story about their application, the solution they provide, and the value they bring. Visuals and interactive experiences are crucial.
Team Composition: Ensure your booth staff includes technical R&D personnel who can engage in deep conversations, not just salespeople.
Swift Follow-up: The work begins when the show ends. Implement an effective lead follow-up process within 48 hours.
PU China 2025 was more than just an exhibition; it was an ecosystem—a premier industry gathering that integrated technology exchange, market intelligence, business cooperation, and brand building. It showcased the vibrant resilience of the polyurethane industry and reinforced our commitment to innovation and a green, sustainable development path.
We look forward to meeting industry peers again at PU China 2027 in Guangzhou to witness the next chapter of the industry's success!
